Was I just a substitute
until she was available?
Because the feelings that we supposedly shared
Can’t disappear that easily.

And I feel this longing
Deep inside of me
That I feel as if I should forget.

I know that you don’t want me,
And I should move on and be happy.
But truth be told
I don’t want anyone else to know me
Because they’ll leave too.
And break their promise.
